Hey Andrew, I'm no SEO expert, but if you search the network you can definitely find some people who are good.
Robert Calise and John Botte are my two, go-to web guys, both are on the network. Just let them know I sent you and they'll be more than happy to help you out.
Advertising has supported magazines/websites for some time now; it's definitely as business model we are always considering for Under30. We're really trying to find an alternative business model, with advertising being more supplemental than anything. We really want to have a solid core product/service to sell, with advertising always being a nice way to make some cash.
I'm still interested in the idea about selling your subscriptions to schools; proper diet and nutrition are such a huge concern at colleges these days, I think they'd pay or at least allow you to distribute your magazine on their campus for free. It'd be a huge way to expand your readership, ultimately increasing the price you can charge for advertising.
Sounds good Andrew, I googled your site, I'm sure your search engine rankings will increase organically but it was tough to find your site(FYI).
Do you have any plans to try and sell subscriptions to schools? I see it's free for individuals to buy. I'd be interested to know more about your strategy, as I have a lot of similar ideas.
Andrew, welcome to the network, saw that Libby is also on the network. I'm into fitness and love what you guys have going. How did the idea for the site come about? Are you involved in the BC entrepreneurship club?
