About Me: I am a junior at Illinois State University majoring in Integrated Marketing Communications. I love life and everything it gives me. I live in the suburbs of Chicago and know I will live here again someday. However, that time is not now because I have the world to explore. I love to travel and make myself uncomfortable in new environments and situations. I spent last school year living in England and backpacking through Europe. I will be spending this next summer in India doing market research for Dickey-John to further their global expansion.

My Goals: Become my own boss.
Visit all 7 continents by the age of 30.
Influence others to have the same positive outlook on life as I do

I worked in the industry for eight years before I bought my restaurant, doing everything from serving and bartending to line cooking to dish washing. I also managed a couple of places and an office (outside of the industry) that gave me a knowledge of business (taxes, ordering, managing people, hiring and firing) that I wouldn't have otherwise. So I know restaurants have a really low success rate--what's cool, is that it sounds like you have an excellent niche and a really good differentiation from all the other restaurants in Chicago. I think you could really generate a lot of good hype/buzz around this. I think they key here, is pitching this to a person with experience in the business before who you can team with. Taking your passion for the cause, and their experience, this could work out really well. Even if they aren't a partner, finding a restaurateur who can help you mitigate some of the risks and let you know what mistakes to avoid.
