Hey John, hows everything going? I know its been a while, I've been pretty caught up in my ventures. Lets set up a time to talk, maybe sometime this week. Send me a text or something.
Exley, just checked out Balaya, really interesting, I'm going to have to keep an eye on these guys in case they are plotting world domination before I get around to it.
Thanks John --- I definitely recommend to start a blog. It builds a great community and enables you to networking with people around the world.Writing things down (in the blogging case typing) lets you be true yourself and keeps you on your toes. I started blogging awhile back and then I started a new blog that I have now. I recommend reading this post as it gives great advice for beginner bloggers.
Hey don't worry about asking questions - It's taken me about 6 months of asking questions to get to the point of actually thinking it might work. Here's some details:
-First thing I'd suggest is get a kind of focus group of other presidents to see if they see the benefit. If you can get buy-in on a small scale it most likely will work on a large scale. Plus those 6 people I started out with are now helping me split the work of getting it going.
-best outline/website I found with good information was the President's Council at Georgia Tech
-My university has over 150 student organizations, we are hoping to get at least half of them to attend the first meeting next month.
-Planning on meeting once a month on Saturday mornings (day was chosen since very few organizations meet on Saturdays + we felt morning gives it that conference feel and doesn't cut into the person's day)
-We also got the Center for Student Leadership involved - kind of the hub of all student orgs, they have all the contact info and connections on campus
-And then from this point on I'm planning on running it like a business - start small and grow it over time. Really use the first few meetings to find the direction and see what members want to get out of it (kind of lview other presidents as customers)
Sorry about the length! Call if you want to pass around any ideas or need any other help - (316)641-1714
I'm actually working on starting it right now. We don't have anything like it right now but it should be getting rolling in February. I've been researching other university president's councils to get a feel for the direction we want the group to go and we are meeting this week to finish writing the constitution and outline for it. If you need any help I'd be happy to share with you as we go!

Hey John. I started up Hip Visions LLC a year before Matt and I collaborated on the Lifestyle Marketing Group (subsidiary) and it went so so. We had some good feedback, landed ourselves in a nice business competition in Colorado but things didn't get to the right level we wanted. Our revenue model was F'd up and the market we were targetting just isn't with the right mind set to explore branding opportunities and leveraging their apparel lines that complement their products. Good learning experience. It's on the back burner rite now for sure. Since Matt and Jared are crazy busy with Under30
So right now I'm pushing ahead with the BrewSees and Hip Visions really is just a parent company for the DBA i'll set up: BrewSees Eyewear.
Def a wild ride. As for this weekend, I just got your message...I'm in the airport right now flying up to NYC. Hit me up like tomorrow or monday 914.456.1610.
I was born on 32 Dayton Street in Rochester, NY and raised in Bristol, NY. I am grateful to be apart of and have one of (what I believe to be) the best extended families and network of friends in the world. Undergone freshman year at Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY. Obtained 3.75 and 3.87 GPA in my first two semesters and 3.69 GPA this past semester with a major of Interdisciplinary Engineering & Management (iE&M). Wrote a complete business plan for Technological Entrepreneurship class, for which I achieved an A. The business plan focused on the radio frequency technology market and was centered around designing an industry leading RF connector for a top global corporation within the industry that presented the project to Clarkson's iE&M program.
Interned at PropertyCare, Inc. this summer, a local market leader in the property maintenance industry. My dad started the business 5 years ago and has helped generate annual sales growth of 60% each year. I assisted the COO in the implementation of a Microsoft Dynamics CRM computer software system to manage sales, operations, quote/proposal processes, etc.; all making end-to-end business more efficient. I also trained corporate sales manager and salesmen in CRM, utilizing its capabilities to (among other things) improve customer service. Additionally, I wrote a partial business plan for the company to focus itself in one direction and generate funding to help achieve the corporate vision of national expansion. I plan on attending law school after graduating from Clarkson while also pursuing an MBA. At some point in career, plan to satisfy my entrepreneurial appetite and build a business; through which I might be able to create jobs for the economy while providing an avenue whereby I might help the friends and family I care so deeply for.
My expertise, what I bring to the table
I have experience at the undergraduate, collegiate level in many areas of business plan formation; including market research and analysis, competitive analysis, operations plan, and the ultimate executive summary. I am proficient in Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Publisher, Access).
I have been in many situations within undergraduate organizations where I utilized my mediation skills and acted as a diplomat to resolve conflict while conducting effective relationship management to overcome obstacles and achieve cohesive cooperation. Often, it has allowed for a collaboratively understood vision that enabled a healthier progression towards achieving an ultimate goal.
I am very driven to achieve my goals. Once I set out to do something, I dedicate myself to accomplishing that goal.
I care about my friends and people in general more than I would say the average aspiring young adult might. Unlike the average cutthroat businessman who is in the entrepreneurial game for mere selfish reasons and looks only to better himself rather than the community and local economies as a whole, I combine my passion for business and entrepreneurship with my passion for helping people to succeed; thus creating trustworthy environments that I believe work to bettering others’ ambitions. This has so far allowed me to inspire and unify groups of people in achieving organizational goals.
My Goals
It has been my dream since childhood to go to law school. Since attending Clarkson University, I have also begun to develop aspirations of obtaining an MBA in the future. Sometime in the future, I hope to build a business that will provide the opportunity to give back to surrounding communities and youth while helping the friends and family I care so deeply for.
I also have the personal goal of starting a family sometime in my adulthood.
Who I'm looking to meet
Young entrepreneurs; hard-working, highly motivated people; Donald Trump; noteworthy people who have succeeded in building profitable businesses; Mike Bibby...
Interests
Family/Friends, Basketball, Entrepreneurship, Law, Investing and Finances, Learning, Traveling, Business, Working out/physical fitness, Domestic and International Politics, Working diligently, Economics, being dedicated and having fun with everything I do, Reading.
