For the second time this week I got a call about a posting I entered on Trulia.com regarding Single Room Occupancy (SRO) buildings. I merely mentioned a success story in insuring them, and then a few weeks later the calls start.
I recently read an article indicating that online marketing doesn't work, and that we should focus on building personal face to face relationships. Well my personal experience shows it can work, we as entrepreneurs have to refine the message so we get the results… Continue

Leaders of the World,
Let go, have faith and make the leap. Perhaps I won't make it, but that's the thrill of it all. If life handed me an instruction manual for 100% success, I wouldn't learn anything and I wouldn't enjoy this amazing journey into entrepreneurship.
I remember when my grandma used to hand me articles about student entrepreneurship, I thought it was such a great idea, I just had no idea how to start. I am so glad I shut out all the critics of my small town, all the nay-sayers al… Continue

What a wild ride starting a business can be. You never know what is coming next. Everyday I get hit with things I didn't see coming or decisions that can decide the fate of my business. Recently we made one of those decisions over at Under30CEO.
We decided to change the name from Under30CEO to Factor77. I'm not even going to bother explaining our reasoning behind it, we had good int… Continue

Recently did a Post over at Corp Magazine. Here's the intro click through to read the rest.
As I have entered this crazy world of entrepreneurship, I have noticed a few key things that have kept my ventures moving forward. Launch, Learn, Revise, and Repeat. Seems so simple, but this process is what will make any project a success in the end.
Launch
This is by far the most important and most feared step of the process. Too many people have ideas yet never do anything. They make… Continue

I always focus my writing for entrepreneurs and small businesses. So when I set out the other day to set-up a dry erase board for $15 I knew I had to write about it because I think tons of people could benefit from this. Who doesn't love bootstrapping!
I've always loved dry-erase boards because I think better when I'm standing or pacing around. It lets me get more into whatever I'm thinking about. This is important when starting a business because there are always new ideas on things and its gr… Continue

Wait. Starting a business is easy? Yes it is.
But Can You Scale It?
Anyone can go out there and start a business. All that really means is you made a decision to sell something. You don't even have to incorporate anything in the beginning if you don't want to.
- It's easy to start a clothing line there are a million places to get t-shirts made
- It's easy to go on craigslist and pick up some web development jobs
- It's easy to ask some neighbors if you can mow their lawns… Continue
One of the many challenges I have encountered as a young entrepreneur is obviously a lack of experience.
Whenever I try to work with people while starting my business I have found I usually can't answer their questions. It doesn't matter the field. Just about everyone I try to work with has questions as to what I expect to do and I generally just give a blank stare or vague answers.
Should I go for 10,000 unique views to my site next month?
Does that mean I should expect to make at least $200… Continue

Work Your Way Up shows that entrepreneurship is not about the destination but about the journey. Patrick's film truly embodies everything businesspeople go through on the roller coaster ride of entrepreneurship, from struggle to success. I highly recommend the film to anyone who wants to know what goes on inside the mind of an entrepreneur and what it takes to go… Continue

Our economy is heading in a downward spiral and the average person is no longer financially secure or safe. I think right now is a good time for us to start thinking big. Go back to that moment in time when we all had to dream to do something exciting with our lives. Thinking big begins with a dream of what could make us happy and some trial and error. There is no doubt that we’ll run into failures along the way, but failure is an opportunity. Failure is an opportunity that we can learn from and… Continue
When considering any business idea here are the top 5 questions any entrepreneur should ask when testing a business idea.
1. How much time/effort will the idea to implement?
Most business ideas are "good ideas" but are they easily to implement with the least amount of time and effort possible? I'm a huge believer in Tim Ferriss' 4 Hour Work Week and how he breaks down Parretto's 80/20 rule; 80 percent of your profits come from 20 percent of your efforts. If you want to run a business you've go… Continue
A distant friend of mine has just passed away. I haven’t seen him in months, but it made me think about how life is a great gift and that we should not take any day that is given to us for granted. Although it is important to plan for the future, I am again reminded of why it is also more important to live each day as if it could be our last. The average person spends 1/3 of their life working in order expend the other 2/3 of their remaining life doing as they please. I think that life should be… Continue
